On Mexpro insurances website, it states:
How long can I stay in Mexico after purchasing my importation permit?
The vehicle import permit is good for up to six months (180 days). You can enter and exit Mexico as many times as you wish during the period your permit is valid. If you travel to Mexico without a valid permit your vehicle can be confiscated by Mexican authorities.
.
That is pretty much what Banjercito told me at Caborca last year when I cancelled my permit and asked them the question. Presumably that is what the $400 deposit is for. I know for sure there is no issue with the 10 year permit. I have that on my trialer. If I am asked at the airport i will show that one first and I do not believe there is any distinction between on on a trailer or a Class A, for example. I would have the other one ready just in case. Worst thing that can happen is they deny me boarding. When you leave, you hand in your tourist visa. Last time i flew out of guadalajara they just chucked them in a box and then you get a new one when you fly back in.
Like a lot of thing sin Mexico the rules change depending on who you talk to. Even on the online permit website the truck weight regs are diferent in the Spanish version than the English. The spanish version says 3500 kg of cargo capacity, the english version says 3500 GVW. The spanish version is the correct one according to the SAT regulations. BTW the SAT regulations say nothing about leaving mexico with a 180 day permit in effect.
