It is hilly from Kingman to Seligman and there is a big grade from Ash Fork to Williams and over the years I have seen many semi trucks sitting on the side of the road on that grade with over heated engines. Going east you will pull the grade, but Flaggstaf is up on top of it so there is no down grade going east. Just make sure your coolant is topped off and in good shape. There is a lot of RV's traveling on I 40 so you won't be alone.
