I took 2 five gal cans of diesel when I went to Alaska, just in case, and never used them. I drove on the top half of the tank and then started watching for fuel. Had no problems at all. If I remember right there were only a few places where the next diesel was more then 100 miles away. Only place I ever had any problem was in your state on a trip to Copper Harbor. When I got there I was running on fumes. I stopped at a business to ask, and was told there was no stations with diesel in the area. The owner told me where to go to get it but that was 30 miles back and I said I'll never make it back that far on what I have left in my tank. The guy saved the day, he had a back hoe that used diesel and had just bought a can of diesel which he sold to me. I asked if I could take his can and I would replace the fuel for him and he said sure. He made my day. With you using gas you should have no problems at all finding fuel. Have a great trip, wish I could tag along, I really loved it up there.
