IS THERE A BETTER ROUTE TO GOLD CANYON AZ from Vancouver?

I would appreciate your input on my travel route from Vancouver, BC to Gold Canyon Arizona. I thought it was best to stay on the I5 highway. My trip begins on January 29, 2015 and I want to keep the ...

In January that is the best route from Vancouver.
We stay on I5 and then over to Bakersfield and Highway 50 east to Barstow, then south to I10.

Avoid LA that way
