Upon entering BC in the SW, there are lots of shopping options (Abbotsford and Chilliwack). In small towns I particularly like Overwaitea (Savon Foods) stores - I've shopped those in 100 Mileshouse, Terrace, Nakusp. They have one as far north as Fort Nelson.
Fairbanks was the first Fred Meyer that I shopped at (in the 80s).
I'd suggest a major stock up when you cross the border, and then again in Whitehorse. In Alaska, Fairbanks and Anchorage will be your best bets.
