I'm so sorry to read about your experience. I've been to Mexico on vacation a couple of times and I've always been treated very well by all. There are some bad apples everywhere.

I'm glad you weren't hurt and that it looks like your insurance will rectify the situation.

I'm always surprised when I read these stories about how many guns are actually in Mexico. If a foreigner (to Mexico) gets caught with even one bullet, they can expect to receive a harsh sentence in a Mexican prison.
