If I had a tow car, here is what I would do. I would install a hidden switch and interupt the wire to the ignition coil with it. That way the engine will turn over, but it wont fire. You can then just say rompio & shrug your shoulders.
Altenatively would look at a GPS tracker for it. I have a spot hand held tacker. on trips here I fasten it to the luggage rack atop my RV where it is unlikeley to be found anytime soon. I can then track where the vehicle goes.
Ther eis a new product calle dspot trace $99 & $99 a year, about the price of a tank of fuel. You just have to find a spot to mount it where it won't be discovered quickly. easy on an RV roof where they are unlikely to climb up, a little harder on a two car. Since it works through plastic, under the fridge vent is an obvious spot.
