Quoting Steve S and myself below. Steve says his "knowledge" comes from the news. Steve - you obviously have absolutely no "knowledge" of this subject. Note that quite a few people on this website have been traveling and/or living in Mexico for a great many years. We may be tourists but many of us have a good deal of experience in and about Mexico. We actually do have "knowledge" and some of us actually do know whereof we speak. With you obvious lack of "knowledge" you might seriously consider staying off forum where topics you obviously know nothing about are discussed. We know there is crime in Mexico. We are not oblivious. We also know there is crime everywhere else. We know how to avoid most crime in most instances - but crime can happen to anyone at anytime in any place. Sorry but that is the world we live in. If you think you are any safer in Canada or the US than you are in Mexico then you really are not paying any attention to the facts. Please provide specific sources and links to facts that state Canadians are killed in Mexico every week!!!!

No need to defend the place, if you're inept to what's going on down there you should open your eyes!

Sorry bro but you really should understand that my knowledge comes from the news, the papers and my brother and his travel companions that travel the world and see what's REAL in different countries and not blind like a tourist in a tourist site.
Please refer us to one validated substantiate factual source of any such information. We have been traveling in Mexico for over 40 years and are unaware of this. We do read daily stories of people killed in US and Canada. In Mexico it is almost 100% criminals killing criminals - rarely is any kind of tourist involved in crime. Compared with many other areas we find Mexico to be relatively safe. Please provide your sources for claimed facts you quote.
