Very interesting thread. As for financial background following having a vehicle stolen, in Mexico the bottom line is, "if you don't bring it out, you sold it. Pay up, please!" You say you've been paid out by the insurance company? Have reams of paper from many official Mexican places? "Senior, you sold it. Pay the duty, or you can't come back to my country!"
