daveb110 brings up an interesting glitch. If your vehicle is not recovered then Aduana considers it sold. The insurance company will not pay until you pay the duty on the stolen vehicle. That payment is not covered by insurance. I am not familiar with the duties but it is more than the IVA of 16%.
