Kansas City to Wisconsin Dells

We are going to the Diesel RV Club Rally in Wisconsin Dells, and wondering which route to take....I-35 to I-90 and across or I-35 to Des Moines then head east. Any suggestions? What about campgrounds midway on either route? We are thinking it will be a two day trip (500+ miles).

    Interstate RV is just off I-80 in Davenport, IA. The best part of that CG is the Machine Shed Restaurant about 2 miles down the road toward Davenport. The CG will know where it is. They have takeout. The best pork that we've had anywhere. Two can split their double pork chop.
