kingston on to Mt Washington to Old Orchard Beach ME

I realize it would be faster driving from Kingston Ontario through the province of Quebec down 15 and 87 but we want to cross at Thousand Island border so looking at the route, is U.S route 11 reason...

As you can take longer to sneeze than going through Malone I see no big benefit.

ROute 11 from Watertown area probably a little faster BUT 12/37 so much more scenic. 12/37 usually has way less traffic.
