Labrador Newfoundland

I am planing a trip to newfoundland and labrador
Making the north loop from Baie Comeau to Labrador City and down to NF
We would spend 2 weeks in NF
And than back trough the maritimes
Is the northern loop worth beeing seen or should we plan the two differents
Faries from NF to the maritimes

  • We did the trans Labrador in 2012 and would highly recommend it. The tour of the Churchill Falls generating station is worth the trip itself. You also have Happy Valley/Goose Bay with the air force museum, Lab City Iron ore mine, And in Quebec on Hwy 385 the Manic 5 dam, the largest in the world of its design. Make the circle, you won't regret it.
  • Thanks for your comments the more I think the more I believe We should go with one ferry visit NL
    Go up to Blancsablon and get back with the other ferry and make a different way trough the Maritimes

    I've done that drive several times, I've also piloted small planes there and back.

    As a friend who accompanied me on one flight put when asked about the scenery; "There was mile after mile of nothing but mile after mile.".

    If you like trees and wilderness, it's a good trip. But bear in mind, it was built as a construction access road for the hydro projects, not as a scenic route, so you often times are very close to, but out of sight of, some really great spots.
