I would consider going across the Michigan UP to Sault Ste Marie and cross into Canada there. You can then take the TransCanada 17, to 69 to 400 to Toronto and on to Niagara Falls. While in Ontario, consider 3 possible stops, in all 3 cases they are a little off the route but well worth the detour. The first is a little north of Sault Ste Marie, Lake Superior Provincial Park. Also Killarney Provincial Park, and Algonquin Provincial Park on the way to Toronto.
