Las Vegas to Reno to Eugene

Hi, we're driving north to BC mid March and I'm curious about this route. Does anyone know how friendly US95 and US395 are for a 32' Class C? Also, trying to avoid snow if we can. We could go back to California and take I5 but I'm looking for some variety since we already travelled that route.
  • We do that route both ways. Leave L.V. on a Sunday, stop in Beatty, Hawthorne, Reno, Alturas, Klamath Falls. Then OR. 58 to Eugene. Then 50/50 if we shoot over to the coast or continue up the 5.
  • I agree with Maverick. Just be sure to check out road conditions at Link before you try to cross the Cascades. I was just looking at LaPine's weather and they are to get snow Sunday which tells me the passes probably will get snow.
  • Another option is the 101 up California and Oregon if weather wont let you do the Nevada route
  • 395 from Reno north can still get snow in mid march. Watch and check weather.

Good route. ... we do much the same leaving Las Vegas, stopping at Beatty and Hawthorne, but instead of going west towards Reno, we continue 95 up to Winnemucca, stay there, and then take 95 and then 78 to Burns, Oregon, where we then turn west going toward Bend and onward west. Easy driving that entire route.
