Our new best friend the school teacher, had also told us we better have one of them world famous Jalama Burgers, but we chickened out, since we didn't even know what a Jalama was.
Now that time in Maui, where we bought two nights at a condo in Hana, and the housekeeping help and her brother - who were locals with special permission to use the guest services - were barbequein' and cooking up local hunted Javalina with us while we were cooking food stuffs we bought in Paia, (pronounced Pie-Aay-uh I think)...
Now THAT time we ate the local food, and we liked it, heck we LOVED it! Javalina. But Jalama? I don't THINK so.
(Disclaimer - we were going to, but then it kind of got past us. Next trip I guess) ;)
