Lincoln HWY

We have driven several sections of the Lincoln Highway. A section of route 30 in western Pennsylvania is actually signed as the Lincoln Highway.


There were some steep hills, so we won't drive the MH that way again.


We also traveled route 30 across Ohio from I71 to Fort Wayne IN. All good divided highway with no tolls and far less trucks than the Interstates.

Lastly, we have several times traveled route 30 across Nebraska between Grand island and Ogalalla. It parallels I80 there. A relaxing drive on a good 2 lane road with little traffic.

it is NY to Chicago to San Fran., roughly US30 in the east, I80 and US50 in the west.

'roadtripusa.com' mentioned in the 'stay off the interstates' thread describes US20, US30 and US50.

This would be US-40 parallel to I-70 would it not?

My mother followed Lincoln Hwy from Chicago to Cali with her sil. Would have been around 1944. Or were you thinking something more recent? ;)
