How soon?
One possibility that comes to mind is a stroll down Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway and through Great Smoky Mountains NP, and then back. Probably it would be best to wait a bit longer for warmer weather, I'd guess.
Upstate New York has a lot of beautiful varied scenery. Some combination of Letchworth State Park, Watkins Glen (and other things in the Finger Lakes region), the Adirondacks, and the St Lawrence Seaway and thousand islands area could make for a great trip...perhaps also Niagara Falls, especially if you haven't been there before. Again, it's still early for most of these areas.
