The East Cape road (track) is one way to get away from at least some of the wall-to-wall North American culture, but I guess it is just a little more diluted by distance rather than locals. Our Airstream protested a bit as it always does but slow and steady got us right along it despite the washboarding and lots of washouts from the rain a week ago.
Given our preference for boondocking Bahia Fralies was as good as it got. Fairly large contingent of Canadians and Americans, some of whom have been coming down forever, were friendly and invited us to one of their get-togethers.
On the way there we passed through San Lucas and didn't bother stopping.
Los Barriles we stopped to get some water and drove into a large RV park thinking we might stay the night and drove straight back out again. Can't remember the name (perhaps Martin Verdugo's Beach resort) which seemed to incorporate neither a beach, nor a resort but seemed more in keeping with a parking lot - but was obviously a couple of stars lower than your find.. We actually stopped for the night at Rancho Verde inland in the mountains. Perfect!
Not a problem for parts of Mexico to cater for the North Americans, but of course if the rot sets in over the whole country it won't be Mexico any more will it.

The is nothing wrong with Mexico being "North American-Centric". It is part of North America.
