Low overpasses are a bigger issue in the east. A trucker's atlas lists low overpasses by state and a little bit of trip planning goes a long way. If in doubt keep to routes that trucks run. There should be a sign warning you at the last turn off before the low overpass. NY marks bridges about a foot short so if you hit it, its your fault. Unless it's marked "ACTUAL" in which case it's a true height. Confused? Since you are from AZ your risk should be low provided you read your road signs. The old standard was 13'6" but new or upgraded highways is 14'6" min. clearance.
