Ma to Montreal Canada

Ok, those that have gone to Montreal where did you stay? how was it crossing the border with an RV?

Ive been to Montreal before on motorcycle but never with an RV, we are looking for a nice "RV Resort" type place that is within an hour from Montreal.

thanks.

  • thanks we were looking at Alouette, will have to book it soon.

Like I said weve done motorcycle trips in/out there is very little for them to search, but they are more than welcome to it. I would never have thought to dump food out of the rv when crossing from Canada, good tip. as for weapons, while I have a LTC I have no intention to bring anything with, that's just like inviting a body cavity search.
  • Camping Allouette is very nice and easily accessible.
One extra note of concern, Do not bring any sort of protection with you. Leave any weapons on the US side of the border.

  • Sorry didn't get back sooner completely forgot about this thread.

I live just outside of Montreal and I never camp nearby, that said there is one CG highly recommended and all within 30mins of Montreal outside of rush hour. It's on the south side of the island which is easy to get to from the USA without going through Montreal with TT. The CG has all the amenities including heated pool, golf etc. It's called Camping Alouette book soon as it fills up quickly also try to get a site further back.

Happy camping and welcome to Montreal.
  • Going into Canada is a breeze, Canadian guards could almost care less. Coming back into the US is a different story... Make sure you don't have any produce or fruit. Best bet is to dump it before you get to the border. Last fall we had a half a melon and cut up head of lettuce and almost didn't get back in. The border officer was treating us like a couple criminals and wanted to search the coach... That was until some woman jump out the car next to us and tried made a dash to restroom. She didn't make it either way... The officer told me get on my way and don't ever try that again (it's going on my record).

What ever you do don't lie to them, it's felony.
  • pool, full hook up with 50 amp, tv...clean no im not looking for it to be all inclusive like in the Caribbean.
  • Crossing any border into Canada will be no problem with a RV just have passport, pets if any, vaccinations proof, other than that I see no problems.
Your asking about a nice "RV Resort" what are exactly are you looking for in a so-called resort?
When do expect to be in Montreal?
