Mackinaw Bridge

Any advice for crossing the bridge with 38' motor home and jeep Cherokee in tow?
  • WE've been across the bridge twice each time we had no problems, listen to the radio for warnings, we overnighted once because we wanted to see it in the daylight.

It's 45 for cars but 25 for high profile vehicles like semi's and Motorhomes.
  • Only 2 vehicles have gone off the bridge and they feel one was a suicide. Can you imagine the terror in the truck drivers mind and then the relief when this truck didn't go over!

    Close one
  • You wont have any problems. It says the speed limit is 45 but I wouldn't go that fast. The big issue is the wind and it will be closed if excessive. I would pay attention to the wind and do what you feel is best for you. It's summer and it will most likely be beautiful. Don't forget to climb Castle Rock.

    Bridge
  • Easy peasy. Follow the speed limit which is 25 MPH for you. Stay in the right lane unless there is a closure. Relax and enjoy.
  • Yes...be careful and watch for construction...or let the bridge people drive it across for you.
