I third it, awesome place, we stayed at the Southern unit, one night we had one of those big bulls walk under our awning, I've seen photos of them scratching themselves on people's slide outs.

If you want to get off the Interstate for a while check out RT 2 runs east and west and will let you see the way people live.If you do go to Custer SP check out the"iron Mountain" road

We had bison burgers the last time we were out that way - absolutely delicious!

We stopped at the Devils Tower just noth of I90 in northeast Wyoming. We really enjoyed it. We stayed at the KOA at the base of the tower. Nice 2 night stop.

What is 553 miles after a trip of 6,000 (?) miles RT. Someone from Maine needs to see the SW more that the view of I90

Lots of great suggestions, thanks! We're pulling a 35 foot TT. Most of this is going to be "windshield tourism". Combination of age, knees and hips rules out any real hiking. We made one trip about 10 years ago and we know we only saw a fraction of what's out there. At this point we're thinking 6 to 8 weeks this time around.
