  • I'll repeat what SCVJeff said, If you want to avoid traffic altogether come north on PCH to the 101 North, it's just a short distance to Ventura and go east on the 126, go south on the 5 to the 14 east to the 138 (Pearblossom Highway),cut off on the 18, it runs right to I 15. Yes, it's more miles but you avoid LA traffic and we do that at all costs. A nice drive and interesting scenery off the 126, lots of produce stands. I 10 through downtown, yuk and even the 210 can be a nightmare. If you go that way make sure it's mid morning after they are all at work and before lunchtime.
  • Depending on where in Malibu.......

Get yourself over to the I-210(E) to the I-15(N).

    Any day BUT FRIDAY
  • Several ways.
-What Bear said (worst tfc by far)
    -1 South to I10 to 405N, to the 14, 38, 138, 15 ( the "back way")
    - 1 North to 126, 5 South, to 14N, 38, 138, 15 (longer in miles, but way less tough on the nerves)
  • JMHO. If I were driving it I would take San Vicente Blvd over to the 405 north to the 210 and the 210 across to15. Topanga road goes through but pretty slow through the mountains and take just as long.

Bear ll: Where are you at in Torrance? I spent 40 years in SW Torrance. Up on Draille Dr.
  • About the only route that makes sense is Hwy 1 south to I-10 east to I-15 north.

Time of day and day of the week makes a big difference for traffic. I would leave Tues - Thurs or Sat/Sun after 9AM and before 1PM or after 7PM.

There are a few long grades on I-15 usually not a problem for most RVs.

It's about a 5 hour drive without traffic. Can be a nightmare drive with traffic.
