Mariposa Border Crossing Oct. 2016
Last Sunday we crossed the border at 8 am. The truck booths on the US side on the extreme right were closed and had barriers across the entrances. Only one car lane was open and it was unmanned. However we were in our 42 ft. MH towing a Silverado. The cars were all making the immediate left hand 90 degree turn just past the booth. Impossible for us. There were no US Homeland security persons on duty to remove the orange plastic Jersey barriers on the right. This would allow us to get into the truck lane and get to Mexico. I waited about 2 minutes. I don't like getting out of my vehicle at the border. They sometimes start yelling that this is not allowed. I walked to the offices. Locked up tight and no buzzers. Finally I just moved the barriers !! No problems at km21. Took less than 15 minutes. From Santa Ana south the road is very rough. Toll prices are the same. Uneventful ( a good thing!)
