Mattole Rd. (Lost Coast Highway, King Range) California

Has anyone traveled Mattole Rd. (Lost Coast Rd.) south from Ferndale to Lighthouse Rd., then to the Mattole Beach campground? Comments on the road condition and "driveability" for a small class C? TIA...

The road is narrow, steep and desolate. I have been down it in the pickup, the SUV and on the Harley. Plan on going very slow in the lowest gear you can find. It is rough in places too.
