This topic has been covered many times. To call Mexican Health Care state of the art is far from reality. Much depends on where you have the emergency. Most IMSS hospitals are far from the state of any art! More like 3 rd world with a lack of modern medicine and a lack of decent equipment. Some private hospitals are sitting waiting for suckers. Especially in popular tourist spots. There are many private hospitals that are state of the art. The prices will be about 70% of US prices. Never go to a facility that advertises : Tourists welcome! I would never travel without a travel policy. For Canadians relying on your provincial plan could cost you a fortune. If I were Rocmoc I would buy travel health insurance.
