Dang I wish things would speed up! Fuel cost down here is around four dollars US a gallon.
I had an engineering business for many years whose purpose was to de-bunk battery myths, hype, and ignorance - especially by manufacturers but also to correct or clarify battery mismanagement by major corporations.
There is a chupacabra grade tale, true or false circulating about whether or not a Ford or Dodge agency with their OEM code readers can tell whether or not improper grade diesel was ever used in one of their products. Frankly I am sick and tired of reading "ottas" "I heard's" "They Can's" and other second-hand speculation. As far as I'm concerned it's time to ---- or get off the pot with these rumors. Ford issues Technical Service Bulletins same as Dodge. Owners who supposedly have been denied warranty HAVE TO EXIST if this has ever happened. These people must have in their possession PROOF that denial of warranty has occurred. Kapisch? Literature exists right from OEM as to how to operate an OEM code reader and WHICH CODES are assigned to detect the use of improper diesel.
Yeah I am extra crabby today. Sue me...
But PROOF. I want to see tangible proof that a dealer can detect improper fuel via the ECU volatile stored memory codes. You know, the ones that cannot be erased.
Let's hear (er read) it. Bring it on...
