Today's ECU's are amazing. They can record fuel mileage, idling time, overspeed and much more. I don't think they can determine if a sensor failed from bad fuel but the ECU records all faults for sensors. IN HD trucks the ECU also has a GPS! If you had a lot of fault codes I bet it would get the dealer tech's looking for a reason. I sure would not want to be the test bed for this discussion. I think that in any vehicle with SCR running LSD would cause a lot of problems. One would have to disable part of that system. THAT will be recorded. GM has a policy that if the tech suspects the system has been compromised they have to hook up to the computer on wheels and send a snapshot of the report to GM. If the engineers suspect that all is not kosher your vehicle has just lost any warranty coverage on the fuel system and driveability complaints.
