Last winter Canadian friends we met in Lo De Marcos brought there 2013 Dodge truck pulling a 5th wheel. This summer I went to Canada and visited some RVing friends and stopped by and visited them. Found out that by the time they hit the U.S. border they had DPF problems and where towed to a dealer. They did not mention they had been running Mexican diesel and were never asked. the repairs were covered under warranty.
Can't remember all the details but I can contact them for more info.
This fall I sold my 2002 DP and purchased a 2009 Allegro Bus with a 425 Cummins. I have done a lot of research and have gone to local diesel mechanics to try and figure out what I should do before my next trip to Mexico.
I have come to the decision that I will run the Mexican diesel and let the computer regen when necessary. I hold 150 gallons and get about 8.8 miles to gallon so should only use about 300 gallons more. I can have the DPF cleaned if necessary and will carry a gasket/ring to do so. Talking to the Cummins tech support there is no way for me to do a manual regen.
Any thoughts on my findings?
