Michigan to Mt Rushmore, South Dakota
Is it better to take I90 to South Dakota from Michigan or to go I80 across then head north at Omaha? Not sure what the drive around Chicago will be like and if it would be better to stay farther sout...

my vote is go the way of the UP. enjoy a pastie and sights.
if you go through Chicago probably go through after 7pm....and before 7am.
