Michigan to Mt Rushmore, South Dakota
Is it better to take I90 to South Dakota from Michigan or to go I80 across then head north at Omaha? Not sure what the drive around Chicago will be like and if it would be better to stay farther sout...

We would always choose to avoid Chicago. Did it a couple of times at different times of day -- not again.
