if I spend 2 weeks going through mexico, can anyone tell me the right way to have cell phone service? i'm with Verizon gracias

A dumpster grade cell phone a TelCel chip and an spot AMIGO 200 plan is all a person needs. I accumulate hours and hours of USA and Canada phone calls on a throwaway AMIGO two hundred peso plan (not a contract).
Verizon this and AT&T that is an expensive waste of time IMHO.
When you're done seasonally, give the phone away to some young teenager. You'll be a hero. Longer than six months without use I think the chip gets neutered by TelCel.
