Modesto Ca to San Diego which route to avoid LA traffic
I was thinking of taking 58 out of Bakersfield to 395 and then to 15 to SD. What do you think. I will be driving a car.

+1 and try to get through LA about noon on weekdays or 5a for early or 11p if late.
Listen to traffic reports that might suggest alternate route such as 10 or 60 to 15 or straight down 5 if others are blocked. 405 would be about my last choice.
