- rag-ftwExplorerWe have crossed at Piegan, MT in the past and it took all of 4 minutes to get across. Didn't have that kind of luck at Winnepeg or Seattle. I like the small out of the way crossings. The guards appear to be much friendlier.
- scrubjaysnestExplorerWe prefer the Chief Mountain crossing just east of Glacier NP. You do have to watch the weather as sometimes even in June it will be closed due to snow.

X2...Easy peasey at this crossing. - IvylogExplorer IIILast summer we went in on 89 at Carway claiming twice the amount of wine that's allowed and no cigarettes. After the normal gun questions, he asked how long in Canada (18 days) and if we had any friends in Alberta (No) so he let us go without charging the duty on the excess wine which we were prepared to pay.
- 2gypsies1Explorer IIIWe had a nice easy, fast crossing at Roosville, just west of Glacier NP.
Sweet Grass is another popular crossing east of Glacier. - GordonThreeExplorer

Any comments about the Montana crossings? I am thinking about crossing at the border crossing just to the east of Glacier.
Crossed at US-89 / CAN 2 (Caraway Canada) in 2013, was treated to a full search of the TV and TT... the kind of search where you sit in this room, give us your keys, we're gonna search your stuff.
My theory, sometimes with the small out of the way crossings, the guards have a lot of extra time on their hands? - netjamExplorerAgree with GordonThree. Everytime we go though a small crossing, we get held up with a full search of all drawers and compartments.

That's interesting. I have found just the opposite. Every time I have crossed at one of the major crossings I have had to wait in the room for 45 min to 90 minutes and have sailed straight through the smaller crossing points! Guess there is no easy solution. - SBradleyExplorerRag- ftw
Seattle area border crossing.
Sumas / Abbotsford (Huntingdon) WA Hwy 9 / BC Hwy 11
it is out of the way but way faster than the main crossings.
As for being searched: I have a son inlaw that is searched at every airport. We find that duck tape applied to his mouth has helped. - marshariniExplorer
