Montana Hiway 200

Good Evening.
Asking for a little help & some suggestions from those that have been there. DW and I are planning our route for our annual trek from the 4 corners to San Juan Island for our annual visit with DD & Sil. The last 8 or 9 years we've been up & back, we've traveled every hiway we could think of. We want to avoid Salt Lake, Seattle & interstates as much as possible. This fall we're going to head Northeast out of Helper Utah up thru Vernal, Rock Springs, Alpine, Idaho Falls, Butte MT, to Missoula and then head Northwest to Sandpoint on hiway 200 then over hiway 20 to Anacortes. 200 is the only hiway we haven't been on going up this direction & from Yellowstone &/or Glacier. Question please, Is 200 an ok hiway pulling our 5er? Remember we been all over the Rockies so not a problem if a little narrow or hilly.

Thanks
Milo
  • MT200 stays in a broad valley all the way from US93 to Sandpoint. There aren't as many tourist/rv facilities along this road (compared to I90 and US2), but the drive is fine.
  • Should not be an issue, not as wide as I-90, but no reason to avoid it. Certainly fewer grades
