The safest way to cross that border might be to walk across in one's underwear, so they can see there's nothing to hide. Even though I'm an honest person, the thought of that crossing makes me uneasy... just for fear of what I might have forgotten or missed, in some corner or cranny. I went through TSA security with a fillet knife in the carry-on by mistake once (and they didn't catch it), so I know I'm all too fallible.
rexlion...this stuff gets blown out of all proportion. Apart from the real no no's..guns and drugs and peeps with a criminal record, it's a breeze. Not that we don't all have the heebie jeebie's when we pass thru, bu even when they wave a person over, get searched and hey lookkeee what I found..an orange..or whatever, you get the ol snake eye, a small lecture, they grab the offending item and leave you to carry on. And no, they don't put a black mark on your computer records. They don't strip search you next time, although there are some that would enjoy that...I am NOT talking to you Paganea...it really is not a big deal, except for the God awful waits, at times.
No kidding. It has just become one of those things that people get all wound up on when they'd be so much better off just sitting back and having a cup of coffee and enjoying the whole thing.
