Mountain roads from Oregon to Reno
Does anyone have any information on what is the best road to take to avoid high mountain passes.

From Grants Pass simplest and easiest is I-5 south to 89, to 44, 36 to Susanville, south on 395 to Reno. No fuel on route from McCloud to Susanville. Burney and Old Station have fuel just a couple miles off route. Only grade of any note after you leave the interstate is 44 leaving Old Station, about a mile of grade then mostly flat. Do not try 89 through Lassen Volcanic NP in an RV. Doable, but narrow and curvy.
Alternate 36 from Red Bluff to Susanville. Long gentle grade then levels off. A couple of low passes. No fuel between Red Bluff and Chester.

That is the route we always use going back and forth to Oregon and beyond.
