How is the road construction on hwy 17 between Myrtle Beach & Charlston? My parents visited 2 years ago & stated it was terrible. Any better? Thinking of July 4th trip.

- Leaving from MB? Or home? If from home. Maybe you could run 95 to 26, and into charleston
- Even when there is construction it's the best way to go. We have enjoyed 17 from VA to FL several times and never thought it was bad. If you like to go 80 MPH it my not be for you.
- MB to Charleston. I drive 62 max. That route is for me. Wondering about the driving in that area and not necessarily getting to & from. Thanks
- We just came back from Fl on that route in the last 2 weeks. The construction you referred to is basically all done. There is always a little something going on but it is a good ride now. Stop at Mclellanville diner for a great lunch!!
