Check out Big Valley. Can't remember which highway it's on. It's just a little northwest of Drumheller. The scenery is relatively flat, then the valley opens up in front of you.
Also check out highway 93 between Banff and Jasper if you have time. The scenery I second to none.
You can catch part of it heading west from Rocky Mointain House. But it is worth the trip to do all of it.
There a lot of small "hole in the wall" types of places in Alberta. Check out Okotiks. There is a Massive rock there. I won't ruin it for you. It is a little bit of a wonder.
