I am guessing you are refering to autowatch. I am trying to find out how much they are, installed, and whether they can be modified up to about 10 min. 3 mi is a bit uncomfortably close. I think 10 min along with a spot trace to see where it is, would be perfect. I would also like to see whether the audible alarm can be disabled. I would prefer the engine to just die without giving out an obvious indication a device is involved. I emailed them. Will let everyone know what they say.
Stan, i get the impression, any pickup is a target. Maybe truck campers are a bit safer since separation is more of a hassle, but those of us with trailers or 5th wheels are more vulnerable. Looks like Class C's and Class A's without towed cars are the best bet. I have removed the 4x4 stickers off mine, and being a Chev with 16 inch rins, it looks like a 2 wheel drive, but its still attractive.
It is looking like a commercial caravan is the only real safe way to travel, or get a group of 5 or 6 together. I know hijackings also happen at home, but you do not have the hassle of dealing with the police you have here.
