well, he's probably going to love the museum at Ft. Sill and if you're going to be there Aug. 2 and know anyone who can get you entry to the base, there's going to be a boot camp graduation ceremony that he would love to see.
going through St. Louis, there is the Arch..he'd like going up in that, and maybe a trip out to the Budweiser Farm to see the big horses. Babler's State Park is in St. Louis if you want to check that out, or lots of folks dry camp in the Casino parking lot on the Illinois side of the river.
Take 67 south out of St. Louis down to around Poplar Bluff. There's a State Park called Johnson's Shut-ins down there, nice park, good swimming.
Then, if you like old timey stuff, head west over toward Branson, MO and maybe find a show your boy would like...all good family entertainment.
Table Rock Lake is just to the south of there and has good camping and fishing.
On south from there, at Eureka Arkansas, is a very good Passion Play put on with live people and animals.
In the Lawton area there will be plenty of Comanche history stuff and and nice wildlife area.
