Need Overnight stop I77 Southbound south of Charlotte

Planning a trip to Hilton Head Island

Need an overnight stop to sleep (6 hours max) that is safe and will allow me to put out slide safely on passenger side of 5th wheel. My floorplan does not allow access to the living area without putting out slide.

I reviewed all rest areas and looking at them via Google maps none will allow me to put the slide out safely

Thanks!

Dave

South of the Border has a nice campground with full hook ups and pull through sites. It's right next to I-95.Here's a review from campground reviews:This was our second stop at Pedro's Campground, and I have to admit that I was glad we stopped on our way to Pennsylvania from Hilton Head Island. I am normally a light sleeper, but I hardly heard any traffic noise from I-95 and had a good nights rest. The pull-through site was extra large, the utilities were good, and the entire campground was clean and neat. I would bet that only 10% of the sites were occupied on a Friday night which made it even nicer. I would definitely stop here again. We camped at South of the Border in a Travel Trailer. It's $29 a night for full hookups. They also have a restaurant and gas station.

It is a great spot but probably 4 hrs away from where he wants to stop...C
  • I think the OP is just looking for a place to sleep for 6 hours, not really a campground. We have stayed at Cracker Barrel restaurants before. There is one close to the NC/SC state line. There is also a Walmart in Rock Hill, SC (just south of Charlotte). You could probably find a spot there that you could extend your slideout. If you want a campground there are several very close to the NC/SC state line including a KOA, Carowinds campground and as someone else mentioned Ebeneezer Park outside of Rock Hill.

6 hours from SW PA ?? That will not get you south of Charlotte ?? Will it ? I am 9 hrs from Charlotte from SE PA . .

Anyway, not much help for you , we stay at Carowinds, then down to FL..

  • Ebenezer county park in Rock Hill is where we go. FHU for under $30 with a lake view. .
