Dead Horse Ranch State Park near Cottonwood. Water and electric hookups.Near Jerome an old mining town. Visit the old home of a former mine owner and the Gold King Mine. Tuzigoot,Indian ruins from 1330 AD are next door. Ft Verde is about 20 miles away is an old restored cavalry post from the 1880's. Painted Desert/Petrified Forest national Park. Stop at the visitor centers and the Painted Desert Inn.If you have the Senior Pass, all National Parks and Historic sites are free and camping in any federal campgrounds are half price.
