Need rest area, 101 just north of Frisco

I've made this drive from Southern California up to wine country and beyond and have the same problem every time. From San Jose, I take 880 through Oakland then across the San Rafael bridge to pick up 101 again. Traffic is always terrible through Oakland and we're always ready for a break when we get back to 101. But I can't seem to find an exit that's big rig friendly, safe, and easy return to 101. Anybody have a recommendation?

Don't know the RV areas around there but...and a big BUT....locals in The City will not take kind to using the name Frisco. Thats a city in Colorado, not California! FYI!

That sure used to be true but all the natives left. The new Techies that replaced them wouldn't know the difference. :)

  • Check out the Mall at Northgate which is not too far north of the bridge. Looking at Google Earth, it looks to have reasonable access, and a ton of parking. You can park way in the outskirts of the lot long enough to use the facilities and stretch your legs.
  • Yeah, well, sorry if I offended you but I was just trying to keep the subject line short but informative. I promise never again to use such an offensive term. Now, does anyone have a useful response?
