Well if you are going to Albuquerque and then on up to Moab; you are possibly considering taking US-550 N to US-64 W to US-491 N.
If you take a slight detour taking US-160 W off of 491 this will take you to 4 Corners where you can stand in 4 different States at the same time. Continuing west for a short distance you can then take US-191 N back up to US-491 N. This route will take you past the Mexican Hat and also through the area where Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump filmed his famous scene where he stopped running. If you do go this way and want to stop where he stopped running to take pictures be aware that you have to keep a sharp eye out because there are no markers telling you that this is where he stopped. As you are going north the spot will be behind you, there is a nice place to pull over to take pictures.
