Nevada to Grand Tetons & Yellowstone

Both Yellowstone and Grand Teton is a hiker's paradise. . any chance of leaving the dogs at home with someone? I think you and the dogs would be happier. Would you leave them in a kennel for multiple days? You'll need more than a day to see the parks and do hiking.
Depending on what park you want to explore first (and I'd highly recommend you move from one park to the other or you'll be driving many unnecessary miles), if you want to do Yellowstone first then from Ely take 93 north to Idaho I-84, then pick up Hwy 20 at Idaho Falls which will take you into West Yellowstone.
If you want to stay in Grand Teton first take the same route to begin but at Idaho Falls take Hwy 26 east to Alpine then north through Jackson, WY.
There are nice dry campgrounds in Grand Teton and one RV park - Colter Bay RV.
When finished exploring Grand Teton, continue north through the park and into Yellowstone to Fishing Bridge.
