LK - lighten up!
You obviously did not see the humour in the comment re the road surfaces. Yes rail trails are generally flat but some do have up hill grades. Having been an avid cyclist for 40+ years, I know what I am talking about. In fact, the picture you posted does really resemble a section of the Confederation Trail that we rode one really hot day and were thankful for the trees providing some shade. That section was on the Eastern end of the Island, not far from Souris as I recall.
