First of all I really hate driving thru Houston...almost as much as I hate driving in Philly...the drivers are but heads the road terrible and usually crowded. Traveling thru with an RV is especially trying cause no one will give you a break. So that being said the most important thing is to do it on non rush hour and if you can on Sunday.....I have always traveled in and got on I610 and then stayed on it till I get to the hwy I need. Yes it may be shorter going straight thru and most cities I do when it is non rush hour but not Houston.... We go to Galveston a lot and that is what I do....in your case get to the 610 till you get to 59/I69...just have patience and get in the lane you need early cause they won't let you over......Did I say how much I hate traveling thru Houston?????....
