Go to http://www.visitwhitemountains.com/visitor-center/ for the Lincoln - I93 side of the Kanc.
They have a brochure request - that will provide you with some great maps.
We are full time RVers who volunteer for the White Mountain National Forest and drive the Kanc 3 days a week.

http://www.mtwashingtonvalley.org/ is the Conway, NH side of the Kanc.
If you have a Senior Pass, that works for parking in the Forest.
Best bet is to find a campground and then drive around. Campgrounds in the National Forest do not have services (most have water available not at specific sites). But there are plenty of other campgrounds around.
